The low protein tortillas a easy to make and can be use is so many different ways. Create a salad roll-up, make a low pro quesadillas or fill with sautéed vegetables for a fajita.

Ingredients (for 6 tortillas)

  • 1 box (500 g) Loprofin Baking Mix
  • 1 1/2 tsp dry taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 mL (4 Tbsp) canola oil
  • 180 mL (3/4 cup) water


  1. Combine all the dry ingredients together in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the oil to the water and then add enough liquid to the dry mixture to form moist and pliable dough. It should not be sticky.
  3. Roll out small pieces of the dough (about 80 g each) on floured wax paper until they are 18-20 cm wide each.
  4. Use an upturned plate as a template and cut out a circle shape. Stack the Tortillas with greaseproof paper between them to prevent them sticking.
  5. Heat a large ungreased non-stick frying pan or skillet and cook the tortillas for 30 seconds on each side.
  6. Wrap immediately in a warm kitchen towel to keep the tortillas soft before you use them.
